Sanitary
The F.A.N.I.MAR operates on a not-for-profit basis with the aim of providing its maritime workers' members with health services to supplement the National Health Service.
It also provides benefits to retired members, from whom, depending on the economic resources available over time and following the approval of the C.o.P., it will request lower contributions than those due from working members.
The Fund is open to all maritime personnel working on vessels flying both national and foreign flags, in particular Captains and Chief Engineers, in view of the agreements already in force, and the administrative personnel of shipping companies that are signatories to the same agreements or to subsequent agreements.
For ready reference we list below the main exclusions from health benefits:
It is assumed that, at the time of taking out the health insurance policy, the insurance company was not aware that the insured person was suffering from a substance dependency (alcohol, drugs, psychoactive drugs, hallucinogens), HIV infection or the following mental health conditions: organic brain syndrome, schizophrenia, manic depressive disorders or paranoid states. In this case, the insurance company would not have agreed to provide insurance. It is also noted that, if such conditions were to manifest themselves during the course of the contract, the insurance would cease immediately, regardless of the insured person's actual state of health, in accordance with art. 1898 of the Civil Code, without the Company of Insurance being obliged to pay any compensation.
Territorial extensions:
• For seafarers: the insurance is valid worldwide, including for family members, with the exception of the United States of America, unless it is an urgent admission with documentation to this effect.
• For administrative staff: the insurance is valid worldwide, including for family members, with the exception of the United States of America, unless it is an urgent admission with documentation to this effect.
• For pensioners: the insurance is valid worldwide, including for family members. world, with the exception of the United States of America, unless it is an urgent admission with documentation to this effect.
PLEASE NOTE: In any case, the General and/or Specific Conditions of the health insurance policies subscribed to by F.A.N.I.MAR. will prevail.
